Cincinnati, OH
♥ Great Parkside OTR Condo in Top-Ranked Building
About the property
The new sister unit to the #1 AirBnB in greater Cincinnati. We opened up this condo because there was so much demand for our 1st AirBnB. Part of a 2-story property built in 1880, it's perfect for a great weekend or being your home away from home, including a great bistro-style patio to enjoy OTR.
Located just a half block from Music Hall, Washington Park and the Streetcar stop, our place is ideally located for making the most out of your time in OTR but is also in a calm residential pocket.
We've had so much fun with our first AirBnB in the building that we decided to take its sibling unit, which is basicly the same layout and to open up a second AirBnB. We're pretty thrilled at how much people have loved our location, and the experience we try to help them have; I hope you'll find that our reviews as Hosts speak for themselves.
We provide a really great custom guide to the neighborhood that works on your phone and of course, I am always available for advice on where to go and what to do while you're here.
You'll find the kitchen is perfect as a launching point for your night and for making everyone coffee and eggs in the morning while you relax at the breakfast bar. The bistro-style patio is will be available in February of 2019 so that it's ready to go as the weather gets better and better. This will be a great spot to start your day or have a glass of wine at the end of your night.
We tried to strike a perfect balance between the original character of the property and building in features to make the home really enjoyable day-to-day. As a result, you'll find features like historically-accurate bedroom sizes (small, but very functional with 1 Queen Bed and 1 Full-Over-Full Bunk with comfy mattresses and pillows), exposed brick walls, lovely hardwood floors, granite and marble countertops, a nicely equipped kitchen, 2-basin bathroom vanity, laundry room, plenty of natural light, full-length mirrors to for getting ready to go out and one of the better locations in all of Downtown/OTR.
Parking is free for 2 vehicles in the garage and will save you from having to scrape wife's off your windshield in the winter time and having to deal with a scorching hot car in the middle of summer.
Also, there are a couple entry steps, so please keep that in mind if you have mobility needs.
PETS:
We're nuts for pets, but had an incident with a guest's pet at our old place and it cost us a fortune. So, sadly, we have decided to not allow pets any longer even though most owners and their pets are awesome; I hope you understand.
STUFF TO DO:
Where to start? The list is endless around here so we'll send you an interactive map that shows you great places with lots of notes and recommendations when you book our place. It's also a nice thing to have as you go around downtown and want to find a good glass of wine before a great dinner followed by needing to meet friends at one of our urban breweries. Here are some of the highlights in a list we'll update as new things open:
- Music Hall (Symphony, Orchestra, Ballet, Concerts, Balls, etc)
- Washington Park is a great place to hang out, go to all the events, have drinks at the outdoor bar, etc
- The list of restaurants and bars within walking distance is huge, I'll help you navigate the madness depending on what you're looking for
- Breweries/Distilleries/Wine Producers: Rhinegiest, Taft's, Christian Moerlein, Three Points, Sam Adams, Northern Row, Skeleton Root, Northside, and Revel are all walkable and most are 1-4 blocks away.
- Fitness: Again, we'll help you find what you want most. Whether you're searching for sports, swimming, lifting, zumba, steamy downward dogs, WOD's or burpees until you die, we've got you covered
- Theaters with all kinds of programming are nearby
- Findlay Market is one of the City's very best treasures, especially on the weekend during the non-freezing months, and best of all it's only 3 blocks away!
I'm always available leading up to your stay to help with recommendations on fun, food and drink (there's not shortage of each within walking distance). You'll get my cell phone number, so feel free to call or text whenver you want and I'll be there to help out. If privacy and relaxing is more of your goal, there is no key exchange or any reason to do anything other than come and go as you want, so it's all up to you. (If the coffee maker isn't working for some reason or you can't find a spatula, I can help you with that, too.)
With the said, Mi Casa, Su Casa! We want you to have a great time, so use our place, use our stuff, and then come back and do it again. Just pick up after yourself and no parties, because our neighbors are cool and we want them to stay that way!
No smoking.
Over-the-Rhine is a gorgeous collection of Italianate architecture that was built in the later half of the 1800's. It's been going through a major renaissance that started around 2006 and has grown in strength and quality ever since. OTR is the most popular social neighborhood in Cincinnati, so some areas are louder than others at night. Fortunately, our place is in the beginning of one of the residential pockets so you get the proximity and walkability to everything without the raucous bar crowd and impossible parking.
We're half a block from the closest Streetcar stop and the closest Red Bike (bike-sharing company) exchange station. If the weather's nice, you can get anywhere downtown on a bike or scooter, and when you walk you'll get as far as your feet can take you because it's very flat here in the basin. Ride-sharing vehicles and scooters are readily available down here at all hours, so you shouldn't have to wait for a car or a Bird/Lime scooter.
Parking is available on the surrounding streets but can still get tight during events at Music Hall so a map link will be sent out to guests who reserve our place showing where some free off-street parking is located across the street from our place.
